OMGSH!
I HATE AYU! She mesmerises me so. XD
I've just listened to her two re-sung songs from her debut.
Two songs from her debut album, YOU & Depend On You.
This year is Ayu's 10th Anniversary, hence she sang these two songs again.
And upon, listening, it touched my heart so. (Now I sound like a folk-tale. -_-')
Seriously!
Why?
Because I've been there when she released her first album, so I know the nostalgic feeling when she re-sang the song.
Do you know what 10 years can do to your voice? Totally different.
Both are Ayus, but one is young, immature and childish, the other mature, womanly, refined.
Ok, let me let you in on some secrets to why am I so damned obssessed with Ayu.
You wouldn't believe this.
I was six. SIX YEARS OLD.
Daddy bought Ayu's CD for us. (That time, sis & me was very into SPEED, a japanese band)
And yeah, we hated Ayu songs. Just dislike her.
And in that CD, Ayu's debut album, were the songs and MVs of YOU and Depend On You.
And the more we watched, the more interested we got.
Soon, SPEED disbanded. Then my sis was a little into Ayu. She followed the songs and stuff, but wasn't such a frantic fan yet.
Later, when she was Sec 2, she became The Crazy Fan of Ayu.
I couldn't care less.
However, through the years, we followed up on Ayu's albums and songs and doings, basically.
Then when I was P6, I was very into Ayu.
HAHAHAHHAXXX!!
Till now, I've been chasing Ayu's songs and albums...
But trust me, there are FAR MORE crazy fans than me. They buy everything that has Ayu's name stamped on it.
Hence, when I listened to the newer versions that came 10 years later after the original songs, they were really beautiful. Well, you could hear her grow. At the same time, reminding me of myself, growing 10 years.
6 years old to 16 years old is a huge gap, right? ^^
That's why I feel that Ayu grows with me, and that's what many fans feel too.
Like she's something stagnant, always there, when you realised that you've grown so much, just like her.
Ok, whatever. Stop rolling your eyes, will you? XD
